The Rines Angel Fund was founded in 2015 to provide a bridge between the next generation of angel investors and the New England venture community. Thanks to a generous donation by S. Melvin “Mel” Rines ‘47, the Fund is established as one of the only undergraduate-run angel funds in the United States. We are an industry-agnostic, seed-stage venture fund helping students of all majors back exceptional entrepreneurs. The Fund specializes in conducting investor-renowned due diligence as a value-add for early-stage companies in the New England entrepreneurial ecosystem.

We invite approximately four companies to pitch each academic semester and invest in select deals after completing our roughly month-long diligence process. Regardless of an investment, we provide the entrepreneur/company with our full due diligence report covering the company’s product, management team, market, finances, etc. We also work closely with and provide research for local New England angel groups including eCoast Angels, 10X Venture Partners, and the Millworks Fund.
